Child abuse allegations surface in Presley divorce

She was just nine years old when her famous father died. That is just a year older than her twin daughters are today.

According to news reports, Lisa Marie Presley's girls are now under the supervision of child protective services and in the custody of their grandmother, Priscilla Presley. The arrangement follows allegations by Lisa Marie that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is currently looking into claims of sexual misconduct she made against her estranged husband in their divorce proceedings.

Presley's estranged husband, guitarist and producer Michael Lockwood, denies the allegations.

Lockwood's attorney said Presley is presenting "a one-sided, inaccurate version of the facts."

According to a recent news report, Lisa Marie filed documents in Los Angeles Superior Court in which she claims to have found on her husband's computer inappropriate photos and disturbing videos. She contacted police in California in June of last year with the allegations.

Because the allegations apparently center on activities in Tennessee, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was brought in. The TBI said it is trying to determine if a crime took place and if it did, if it occurred in Tennessee.

The agency added that it "has not opened an official case in connection to this matter."

Lockwood has asked the court to award him $40,000 in spousal support per month.

Few divorces -- if any -- include a cast of characters that glitters as brightly as this one, including Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie's father, and her former husbands Michael Jackson and actor Nicolas Cage.

While few divorces pack that kind of star power, many do similarly potent allegations in child custody disputes. An experienced family law attorney can help you protect your children and your rights in all divorce and custody matters.
